How to Use Artlist for YouTube, Client Work & Social Media

New to Artlist? Follow this practical guide to choose the right license, download tracks and sound effects, use AI voice and video tools, integrate Artlist with Premiere Pro, and keep your projects copyright-safe.

How to Use Artlist

1. Understand how Artlist works (plans + license)

Before you download anything, you need the right plan and license.

Artlist gives you access to:

  • Music sound effects (SFX)

  • Stock footage & templates

  • Generative AI tools (AI voiceover, AI image, AI video)

All of this is covered by one of two license types:

  • Social license – designed for social creators; covers your own channels.

  • Pro license – covers all types of video worldwide, including commercial use and client work.

What to do

  1. Go to the Pricing page on artlist.io.

  2. Decide which assets you need (AI Suite, Music & SFX, Footage & Templates, or Artlist Max for everything).

  3. Choose Social if you mainly post to your own channels; choose Pro/Max/Teams/Business if you work with clients or brands.

2. Create your account and log in

Once you’ve picked a plan:

  1. Sign up with email or SSO (Google, etc.).

  2. Complete payment and confirm your subscription.

  3. Log in at artlist.io – you’ll land on the Artlist home screen.

3. Explore the Artlist homepage

The homepage is your content hub.

Artlist’s “Getting started” guide recommends using it for quick inspiration:

Spend a few minutes clicking through these sections so you see what’s available in your plan.

4. Search for assets (music, SFX, footage, templates)

The main search bar at the top is how you’ll find most things.

Step-by-step

  1. Click the dropdown in the search bar and choose what you’re looking for:

  2. Type a descriptive phrase, like:

    • “emotional piano” (music)

    • “office ambience” (SFX)

    • “sunset drone” (footage)

    • “title animation” (template)

  3. Use filters on the left (genre, mood, BPM, duration, instrument, resolution, etc.) to narrow the results.

  4. Click a track or clip to preview it before downloading.

Tip: Create “favorites” or playlists for tracks you love so you can reuse them across projects.

5. Use Artlist’s AI tools

If your plan includes AI, you’ll see tabs for AI Voiceover, AI Video, AI Image.

5.1 AI Voiceover / AI voice generator

Artlist’s AI voice generator lets you turn text or audio into a voiceover:

  1. Go to AI Voiceover.

  2. Choose:

    • Text to Voice – paste your script.

    • Voice to Voice – upload your own voice recording and transform it.

  3. Pick a language, gender, accent and voice style.

  4. Adjust speed, emotion, and effects.

  5. Click Generate and download the audio file.

All AI voiceovers are covered by your Artlist license for commercial projects (as long as you respect the Terms of Use).

5.2 AI Video generator

The AI video tool converts images into short animated clips:

  1. Upload an image or start from a prompt.

  2. Choose style, aspect ratio and duration.

  3. Spend AI credits (your balance resets monthly with your plan).

  4. Download the clip and drop it into your edit.

5.3 AI Image generator

Use AI Image to create thumbnails, backgrounds and concept art:

  1. Type a text prompt or upload a base image.

  2. Select style and output size.

  3. Generate, review, and download your favorites.

6. Download assets the right way

When you find a track, clip or template you like:

  1. Click the Download button.

  2. Make sure you’re logged into the correct account (the license is tied to your active subscription).

  3. Save files into clearly named folders for each project (for example: /ClientName/VideoTitle/Music).

How licensing works

  • While your subscription is active, you can use downloaded assets in any project that fits your plan’s license.

  • If a project is completed and published while you’re subscribed, you keep the rights to use those assets in that published project forever, even if you cancel later.

  • You can’t use Artlist assets in new projects after your subscription ends.

7. Protect your videos with Clearlist

Because Artlist music is also registered in YouTube’s Content ID system, you should use Clearlist to avoid copyright claims.

How to Clearlist your channels

  1. Go to My Account → Clearlist in Artlist.

  2. Add your channel handle for each platform:

    • Social plan – 1 channel per platform

    • Pro plan – 3 channels per platform

    • Teams – 5 channels per platform

How to Clearlist individual videos

  1. In the same Clearlist area, paste the YouTube URL of any video using Artlist music.

  2. Pro/Teams users can also add client video links they manage.

If a claim shows up, Clearlist lets Artlist see that your video is licensed so they can remove the claim, usually quickly.

8. Use templates & plugins in your editor

8.1 Working with templates

Artlist templates are ready-made animations and graphics (titles, intros, transitions, etc.).

  1. Download a template that matches your editing software (Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci, etc.).

  2. Open it inside your NLE and customize text, colors and media.

  3. Export as usual – the template is covered by your Artlist license.

8.2 Artlist Hub & Premiere Pro extension

To speed up your workflow, install the Artlist Hub:

  1. Download the Hub app from Artlist.

  2. Log in with your Artlist account.

  3. From the Hub, install:

    • Artlist Library extension for Premiere Pro – browse and drag music, SFX, footage directly onto your timeline.

    • Plugins and AI Assistant – extra effects and tools that integrate with your editor.

This keeps you inside your editing software instead of constantly switching to the browser.

9. Best practices for using Artlist like a pro

    • Social if you only publish on your personal channels.

    • Pro/Max/Teams/Business if you create content for clients, brands or broadcast.
